Youth Music commissioned a refreshed identity for the 2025 Youth Music Awards, building on the successful 2022 campaign I developed and led. The new look aligns with the “Rescue the Roots” initiative, celebrating grassroots music communities, while responding to the heritage and unique character of the Troxy, the awards’ iconic venue.

Inspired by the gradual impact of street art movements, the identity communicates growth, adaptability, and activism – reflecting the work of grassroots music communities. The “W” in Awards doubles as a visual metaphor for both roots growing exponentially and the flow of music, symbolising Youth Music’s role in nurturing talent from early stages to industry-ready musicians.

A campaign with legs

The refreshed identity has been rolled out across Youth Music’s 2025 awards, earning positive feedback from participants who felt energised and legitimised. The identity will be carried forward as the awards move to Manchester, their new home for the coming years.
